This week we are very priveleged to have two massive sets from a long standing friend of trancemix.org – Akira Kayosa.

Akira is based in the UK – and when he’s not producing his own tracks, or performing alongside other headlining Djs such as Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten – he is keeping busy with his own regular podcasts through AfterhoursFM.

First up, we have an audio trailer for Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy, an incredible new independent movie. To discover more about Ecstasy, go here: http://djmixes.org/irvine-welshs-ecstasy-goes-world-wide-with-your-help/

Then, our first mix comes from Akira’s End Of Year celebration of 2011, which features some of the most powerful and stunning tracks we saw come out last year…

In the second set we get to hear more of the producer side of Akira, with episode 63 of his Synthetica series. Keep an ear out for the amazing collaborations between Akira and Hugh Tolland.

So get ready everyone for an absolutely stunning show – with over 2 hours of uplifting progressive and power trance.

About Akira Kayosa:

In a short space of time Akira Kayosa has propelled himself to the forefront of the dance scene with show stopping, hands in the air performances at some of the world’s biggest venues. Having left his mark on clubbers all over the planet, Akira continues to earn international acclaim as one of the world’s hottest next generation trance djs and producers.

JFK – ‘‘Akira Kayosa is one of the UKs leading lights in the future of club land, a hardworking and incredibly dedicated DJ/producer he really enraptures the sound of the 21st century dance music.”

In the first few years of his career, he cemented his reputation as one of the scene’s rising stars with pumping, emotional sets that got any dance floor moving. Now firmly established as a regular at top UK brands like Gatecrasher, Passion, Digital Society, Majefa and The Syndicate, Akira has played alongside the best in the industry, including Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten.

Sean Tyas -“Russ aka Akira Kayosa is a perfect example of proper golden-age influence trance infused with the current production techniques of today, keeping his productions & remixes PERFECT for peak hour dancefloor explosions. Adding to the fact that he’s a class act person and loves to just talk shop for hours with people, Russ’ career compass only points one way… North.”

Akira sets himself apart from so many other club stars by being as fiercely accomplished in the studio as he is behind the decks. Over the past four years he has proven his technical skills, earning himself a reputation as one of the best young producers around and gaining support from the world’s elite djs. His unique ability to produce at any tempo and style has only reinforced his depth of talent and passion. This is a man who stops at nothing when it comes to creating the records he loves.
